Che Kwai-ying, Kristine (’70)

YWGSAA (Toronto) hosted our annual dinner on September 22, 2024. As in previous years, Mr Yeung Po-kwan, former principal of Ying Wa College (YWC) and Mrs Yeung attended our dinner. Mr Allan Cheng, recently retired principal of YWC, was visiting in Toronto. We were honoured to have them all as our guests of honour.

This year’s dinner marked the first collaboration with YWC-AA, some members of which attended the dinner.

In addition to delectable food and wonderful company, we had 3 performances. Rosanna Wong and Catherine Lee (both ’70) did a karaoke. Sisters Amy Go (’78) and Avvy Go (’80) did an A Capella, and the keynote performance was by our guests from YWC. They sang with the accompaniment of guitar. Principal Yeung brought the evening to a climax by singing ‘Oh! Carol’ and ‘My Bonnie’. He has such a dynamic voice that we have marked down in our notes for future performances :)

Ms Winnie Yau (’59), our advisor, has moved to an assisted living senior home. Mrs Josephine Chow (余淑賢), student from 1964 to 1971 and teacher from 1982 to 1987, has kindly accepted our invitation to be our second advisor.

It was a lovely evening bringing back fond memories of our younger days at YWGS and rekindling old and new acquaintances. The evening ended with a resounding singalong of ‘Auld Lang Syne’.
