Meet, Chat and Walk on 1 August 2023

Margaret Tsang 曾詠梅 (’73)

Having missed for quite a few years of activities organized by Esther Chan (’67) and Ellen Yuen (’74) for Ying Wa Sydney Alumnae, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and joined the walk.

The Gap Lookout, Watsons Bay
Hornby Lighthouse

The excursion was very enjoyable to me, with beautiful harbour views via ferry from Circular Quay to Watsons Bay, then followed by a very relaxing and scenic walk to the South Head (Hornby Lighthouse) and return.  The weather was beautiful and warm.  Also, thanks to Ellen who took many good photos for us to capture our memories.

We have seven ladies joining the excursion, graduating between 1964 and 1974.  Meeting with and sharing part of our lives with friends of similar background from this Ying Wa community was also very valuable.  Our chats inspired me a lot of the reflections on blessings from our high school education, the positive attitude and practice of learning new things, as well as widening of ideas on what to do at this chapter of my life.  I am also very thankful that we are still healthy enough to participate.

I would like to say a big “thank you” to those who work hard to keep this community going.  They have a big heart to serve us.  I understand it is not an easy task to organize an activity that suits everyone, but it is worth keeping this going.

I am looking forward to our next activity and would love to see more ladies come along to encourage and to develop our bonding with one another.
