Che Kwai-ying, Kristine (’70)

YWGSAA Toronto Chapter hosted our annual dinner on September 26, 2025.  It was attended by 38 alumnae, with their Form 5 graduation years spanning from 1950 to 2018.  That meant several generations of YW graduates – splendid!

As in previous years, Mr Yeung Po-kwan, former principal of Ying Wa College and Mrs Yeung attended our dinner as our guests of honour.  This is the second year we have collaborated with the Ying Wa College Old Boys’ Association (“YWCOBA”), and seven of their members came.  Last year, six members came, so that was an improvement:)

Videos on our 125th anniversary celebration dinner held on 29 March 2025 in Hong Kong and clips on the Musical - A Stargazer's Fantasy were played in the background before dinner.  Many were awed at the theatrical effects, costumes, singing, and choreography of Stargazers.  The highlight of the evening was of course Mr Kwan’s singing of ‘Enter In’, followed by our new principal Ms Chuk’s greeting message to our alumnae.

This year, we hosted a silent auction using YW souvenirs/gifts + 3 ikebana arrangements by Irene Hui (’71).  Alumnae were busy shopping, and no doubt, items were sold at record high biddings.   Proceeds went to our alumni coffer.

In the end, all had a wonderful time reminiscing about our youthful days at YW while savouring delectable dishes.
