On a lovely afternoon in Minneapolis, four Ying Wa alumnae who graduated from 1958 to 1963 gathered for a heartwarming reunion at the home of Sara Wai Chung Chan Martinson (陳慧中) (’62).  The group included Kai May Yuen Terry (袁介媚) (’58), Pearl Lam Bergad (林碧珠) (’60), and Sau Kwan Chung Lo (鍾秀昆) (’63), with Sara meeting her fellow graduates for the first time, thanks to an introduction by former principal Mrs Ruth Lee (’72).

Sara, who recently moved to Minneapolis with her family, graciously hosted the gathering, serving delicious homemade appetizers and a full lunch.  The afternoon became even more special when her son and daughter-in-law, both professional pianists, treated everyone to an enchanting four-hand piano concert performance.

Despite the decades since their school days, the alumnae bonded over shared memories of Ying Wa and the enduring legacy of their alma mater.  Laughter and stories flowed as they rediscovered connections and celebrated new friendships.

The gathering was a testament to the lifelong bonds formed at Ying Wa and the joy of reconnecting across time and distance.  The group looks forward to many more such meetings in the future, grateful for the blessing of friendship and shared heritage.
